Posts

The creation / edit procedure for editing many types of information on the site is very similar with the exception of a few things. These information nodes are considered ‘posts’ and will be referred to as such throughout the help documentation.

This section covers the basic procedure for creating and editing the following:

Creating a new post

  1. Log into the admin dashboard
  2. Click Posts in the main toolbar on the left

This will present the complete list of all posts

  3. Click Add New at the top of the page
  4. Give your post a title
  5. Enter the body information in the large, white text editor

There are typical word processor options here as well (ie: bold, italic, etc.)

The critical setting
This is the option that determines what content you are creating and where it will appear 6. In the Category panel on the right, set the appropriate category for the information node you are creating.
While it is possible to select multiple categories, it’s unlikely that the post should exist in more than one of these categories.

  1. Upload a featured image (if applicable) In many cases, you will want to add a corresponding image to represent the post you are creating. This is the image that will represent the post in archives, lists (where applicable), and other areas where only titles and thumbnails exist. This will also be the main header image in many cases when you select a particular post from a list and arrive at the ‘individual page’ for that post.
    • Click Set featured image
    • This will trigger a modal window where you can drag an image from your computer to the window
      • Once image appears in the window, click the Set featured image button in the
      • bottom right corner of the window

This panel can be found in the right column of panels
